REVIEW: LA ROCHE POSAY SEROZINC

image

Once upon a time La Roche-Posay created a toner called Serozinc and it was only available far away, in French pharmacies. This toner was raved about, even receiving the tick of approval from skincare expert,Caroline Hirons.

Finally the lovely people at La Roche-Posay are now releasing this coveted toner in Australia so now it is our turn to see what all the fuss is about! Isn’t it always the way, we always want what we can’t have?

WHO ARE THEY?
La Roche-Posay is named after a village in France where the thermal spring water was discovered and became a key ingredient to the brand. Sold in 50 countries across the world and recommended by over 250,000 dermatologists La Roche-Posay is a trusted brand.

WHO IS IT  FOR?

La Roche- Posay is recommended for those with oily skin and acne prone. Serozinc is also suitable for people with sensitive skin.

HOW ABOUT THE PRICE?

Now I know what your thinking, it’s a French Pharmacy product, is this going to hurt my wallet? Absolutely not! Serozinc costs $23.95 for 150ml. Considering you only need one or two sprays it’s going to last you a long time!

WHATS IN IT?
3 Ingredients, that’s it!

  • Water
  • Sodium Chloride
  • Zinc Sulfate

Water, well that’s obvious. Sodium Chloride (salt) is used as a thickening agent. Finally Zinc Sulfate is the star ingredient, it has been proven to treat acne due to its anti inflammatory properties. Zinc also helps wounds heal faster resulting in acne disappearing sooner rather than later. Further to this it helps neutralize skin, no matter whether you are dry or oily.

HOW DO I USE IT?
Apply to freshly cleansed skin, either spray directly onto the skin as the mist is so fine or onto a cotton pad and then apply to the face. Follow up with serum/moisturizer.

MY THOUGHTS

I enjoyed using Serozinc, it was easy to apply to the face and I found it made my skin appear less oily without being drying. Serozinc is also lovely to apply on warm day to refresh your skin.

It was a nice base to wear under make-up and I found it definitely helped speed up the process of the acne healing and would recommend it for that purpose.
