Flawless Make-Up in a Hurry

Okay, i’ll admit it, I’m the queen of being late. Whether it’s for work or a social occasion I never seem to get there on time. Is it because I have poor time management skills? Or is it because I get caught up trying to make my winged liner symmetrical? Who can say? (Maybe my boyfriend?)   What I can say is, it has forced me to perfect, a quick, yet put together, flawless makeup routine.

It’s the typical scenario, you’ve slept through your alarm, your running late, you look in the mirror and eek! You have under eye circles for days and a few pesky pimples. This is my tried and tested routine to help you look flawless and put together very quickly!

The first item I am going to reach for is the Clinque Beyond Perfecting Foundation. It is a 2 in 1 foundation and concealer, so as you can expect, it’s very full coverage.  Perfect to cover everything you want to hide and you can skip the concealer step as well.  The wand is a huge doe foot applicator so I just go ahead and draw a few lines on my chin, cheeks and forehead.

Next I go in with my secret weapon; the Artis oval brush number 7. I paid a pretty penny for this brush, but it was totally worth every cent.  This brush blends foundation in a few swipes and gives a beautiful flawless application. No streaks, no patches, perfect for when you don’t have time for precise application. There is nothing worse then when your in car and you pull down the mirror and AHHHH!!!  You’ve missed a bit on your face and there is a glaringly obvious foundation-less patch of skin. This never happens with the Artis brush. I know I can count on it to make my skin flawless in minimal time!

Once you have your flawless base it’s time to get some colour back into your face. My preferred product is Nars’ Multiple in the shade orgasm.  Ahh orgasm, could you get a more uncomfortable name for such a beautiful blush? Nothing is more embarrassing then when someone asks what blush you are wearing and you reply “orgasm”, but I continue to wear it, because I love it so much.  The multiple is cream stick, so you can either apply straight from the stick onto your face or use a brush. Personally I just use it straight from the stick and blend with my finger. Cream products are perfect for when you are in a rush because they are so easy to blend and look very natural so you can’t make a mistake.

Even when I’m in a hurry I cannot go without my highlight. My favourite its Benefit’s Watts Up, it’s a  beautiful, champagne cream stick highlight. It’s perfect to swipe onto the high points of your face and blend with fingers. I would recommend this product for anyone with fine lines or textured skin as the soft glow, is very forgiving on your skin.

Next I move onto brows. I love brows, nothing makes me happier then spending a good 10 minutes meticulously creating the perfect brow strokes.  But when I have no time, I reach for Benefits Goof Proof Brow Pencil.  It has a unique tear drop shaped tip and it allows you to define and fill in your brows with ease, much quicker than a fine tipped pencil.

To set everything I grab a large fluffy brush and lightly buff in Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder into my skin. The micro-fine powder allows you to blend with ease, blurring all imperfections for a natural flawless finish.

Lastly I go in with a lip colour. I love using a crayon as it’s so easy to apply, my favourite is Burts Bee’s Lip Crayon in the shade Sedona Sands. It’s a beautiful nude, that compliments the look perfectly.

That’s it, your done and ready to go out and take on the world!  This routine normally takes me about 10 minutes to do. Obviously if you don’t have that kind of time you omit things that aren’t essential, but this routine still gives you a rough guide to follow.

Have you tried any of these products or do you have your own quick, make up routine? I would love to hear all about it in the comments section below.

Until Next time xx
