August Empties 2016

Welcome to my first ever empties post. I have gone through quite a few products this month and I am ready to give you a review on what I will be repurchasing and what needs to stay in the bin!

Let’s start with the product that hurts me the most to see in the pile:

Sunday Riley’s Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil

Why am I so sad that this product is empty?  The first reason is the price, a 30ml bottle will set you back $135.00AUD for 30ml’s. Don’t let the price deter you, because this oil is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

You know that old saying you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone?
I didn’t realise how much I loved this product until I went without it. I was going on a short trip and decided not to bring Juno because I couldn’t bear the thought of it breaking.  It comes in glass jar with an eyelet dropper, so it’s definitely not a great travel companion. But after forgoing Juno for a few days I noticed my skin had suddenly became quite dry and dull. As soon I started reusing it again my skin returned back to its hydrated it lovely state.

I can honestly say my skin has never been more hydrated and luminous and I assuming it because Juno contains a plethora of vitamins, antioxidants and amino acids.  I won’t lie, I do think it is very expensive for what it is, but I would highly recommend it if you are serious about your skincare.

Smash box Photo Finish Primer Water

This was a product that was heavily hyped on Youtube, everyone was using it and singing its praises, so what else was I to do but jump on the bandwagon as well.

Admittedly I was very sceptical, $48AUD for what appeared to be water with electrolytes. Nethertheless I used the whole the bottle and while it did feel lovely to apply to freshly moisturised skin, I was very underwhelmed with the results.

Don’t get me wrong I didn’t give up on it, I tried really hard to make this primer water work for me. I tried it before my skincare routine and after, before my makeup application and after and still not enough of a difference for me. There are so many more affordable primers out there that actually do make you make up last significantly longer.

Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads
I won’t go on too much about this product as I already have a full review that you can read here: but these little pads of goodness are just amazing and I am already onto another tub of them. Give them a go, no matter whether you are worried about acne or trying to get rid of some fine lines this product will impress you.

L’Occitane Shea Cleansing Oil 200ml – $29AUD
I came across this product by pure accident but I am so thankful I did. For the longest time I had been using the Body Shop Cleansing oil, but after going to three different Body Shops and being sold out everywhere I was in desperate need of an alternative. Cue L’Occitane Cleansing Oil, similar looking to The Body Shop oil but far more superior.

This baby will get rid of all your makeup with minimum effort. As it is an  emulsifying oil all you need to is apply it directly onto your dry face and gently massage  into your skin until the make up melts off. I then go in with damp cloth and remove. It’s perfect removing that waterproof mascara as it is gentle and doesn’t sting your eyes.  Great for those who love applying a full face but hate taking it off. I would highly recommend.

Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Jelly 30ml

After falling in love with the Hydraluron Serum, I decided to give their moisturiser a go.  It comes in quite unique packaging for a cheap moisturiser.  It has a big button you press and it squirts out the appropriate amount at the top, similar to the Kate Somerville moisturiser.  As the name would suggest the texture is that of jelly and I find it extremely hydrating.  Although I am constantly trialling and testing new moisturisers on the market I find myself always returning to this one. It’s relatively affordable and does what it says on tub. What more could you want?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these products or if you have any empties that you can recommend.
